Cultivating Connections 2024

Cultivating Connections is a partnership with the American Society of Landscape Architects, Illinois Chapter (ILASLA) and the Millennium Park Foundation to promote Horticulture, Landscape Architecture, Construction, Urban Agriculture & other professions in the Green Industry for the next generation through connections with students and young professionals. Careers in the Green Industry are multidisciplinary and use a variety of skills and strengths.

The event takes place at Lurie Garden and students are given a passport book that includes the 6 stations they will be visiting. Each station focuses on a specific profession in the Green Industry. Students will engage in a learning activity with a mentor from the corresponding industry. The mentor is available to answer any questions and to provide information on their day to day workday.
