Worm-Composting Your Food Scraps

March 31 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Learn how to compost your household food waste using a worm bin! If you’re like us, you sometimes feel frustrated throwing your salad scraps into the trash when you know that there is a better place for them than a landfill.

Led by Val Kehoe, Lurie Garden volunteer and Horticultural Coordinator for the University of Illinois Extension, this class will show you and your family tips and tricks, best practices and how to make your own starter worm bin (complete with worms) to take home!

Come prepared to carry your worm bin home at the end of the program. The bins given in the class are 10-gallon sized, but they will be mostly empty.

Space is limited, registration is required.
