Caroline Zayed

Volunteer Manager

Caroline joined Lurie Garden in the summer of 2019. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Chicago’s suburban Elmhurst College. She possesses a wide range of skills and experience that stem from a 10+ year career in Marketing & Communications, however she sought more as she took time for family care.

After several years of volunteering for her children’s school and various nonprofits, she wanted to continue to work for what mattered. Her passion for business, communication, and the arts as well a great love for Chicago and its cultural institutions has found a home at Lurie Garden. The garden’s mission to foster and encourage growth in botanics, art, and ecology as well as putting those with the right hearts and minds to volunteer is a synergy that she enjoys leading. She finds the passion of the volunteers of the garden to be inspiring and hopes to grow an even larger team of docents working hands-on in the garden, leading weekly tours and actively participating in programming and events.

She loves being a part of the vibrancy of Millennium Park and cherishes a stroll through the garden with the echoes of a sonata from the Pritzker Pavilion.
